It does take a long time, so I would recommend it when you have all day.  I tried the suggestion of making it the night before.  That didn't work out so well. Last night I made Maryland Fish Fillets.  Very nice.  I used frozen Orange Roughy fillets as the fish.  The sauce has a nice dilly-cheesy flavor with a hint of Dijon.  I'm not a big Dijon fan, but it came out rather nice. I thought, that sounds interesting. So we took a sweet cream base ice cream recipe for a 1 1/2 quart ice cream maker and halved it. We blended in 15 oz of ricotta cheese and froze the ice cream according to instructions. With about 10 min left we added some citron, candied fruit, and chocolate chips, to taste.
